Madrird strategist Jose Mourinho confirmed that forward Karim Benzema will miss Sunday's match against Barcelona's "Espanyol" due to injury.
The Frenchman pulled his groin and dropped out of the lineup for a couple of weeks.
"Benzema is injured, so he won't be able to play for a couple of weeks," Mourinho said.
It is likely that Argentinian Gonzalo Higuain will take Benzema's place on the field, for whom Mourinho had only good words.
"Last week, Higuain played in the starting lineup against "Rayo Vallecano" and scored a goal. His statistics are excellent, so the opponents know well what a threat Gonzalo poses."
