President Sandro Rosell wants Pep Guardiola to stay as the coach for a long time.
A few days ago, the specialist publicly stated that he does not want to sign a long-term contract with the Spanish champions, as he would lose motivation to strive.
"We appreciate each other," Rosell said. "Pep is the best coach in the club's history. In addition, he is a great person. We will do everything to keep this strategist in place."
In his fourth season directing Barcelona's team, Guardiola has already won 12 trophies - more than any other team coach.
His contract will expire next summer.
