Tomas Cleverley signed a new four-year contract with the club and will represent them until the summer of 2015.
This season, the 22-year-old midfielder has cemented his place in the main squad of the English champions and played in the first four Premier League matches, but last month he suffered an injury and had to leave the lineup.
"Tomas is one of the most promising footballers in the country," said Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "He is still young, but already stands out with his intelligent play, and he has plenty of talent and energy. Therefore, the future of this midfielder is bright."
It is speculated that Cleverley may be included in the Manchester team's lineup for the crucial match against Liverpool on Saturday.
Last season, the Englishman was loaned to Wigan where he played in 25 matches and scored four goals.
