The Estonian national team will face Ireland in the playoffs for a ticket to the final stage of the 2012 European Championship. This was revealed on Thursday when the draw was made.

In other pairs, one of the best footballers on the planet Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal will meet the future opponent of the Lithuanian national team in the World Cup qualifiers, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Turkey will play against Croatia, while the Czech Republic will face Montenegro.

The eight teams that finished in second place before the draw were divided into two baskets according to the coefficient, which depended on the results demonstrated in recent years. Estonia, which unexpectedly surpassed Serbia and Slovenia in Group C, was placed in the second basket along with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, and Montenegro.

The first playoff matches will be played on November 11-12, with the second leg matches taking place on November 15.

In the final tournament, which will begin on June 8 next year and will last until July 1, Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Greece, England, Denmark, and Sweden have already secured their places to defend the title.

The teams participating in the competition will be drawn into groups on December 2 at a ceremony in Kyiv.
