Defender Gerard Pique told journalists that the head coach of the team, Josep Guardiola, will sign a new contract with the Catalan club.
The main architect of the team's victories is now under contract with "Barca", which expires next summer.
Last week Guardiola stated that he did not want to sign a long-term contract because, according to him, "in that case he would lose motivation".
Pique believes that the coach will act as he did in the past few years - he will sign a new contract during the season.
"I don't want to put any pressure on the coach. He will do everything at his usual pace, as he did in previous years. He used to sign a new contract and I think the same thing will happen this season," the defender told the newspaper "El Mundo Deportivo".
"I think that the current team is the best in its history. It shouldn't be distracted. Pep likes the work he does and the players trust him. I don't see any reasons that would make Guardiola leave 'Barca'", the footballer pondered.
