The new club's coach became Thorsten Fink. According to reports, the German team paid around 800 thousand euros to buy out the 43-year-old German's contract from the Swiss team "Basel".

In 2006, Fink ended his professional football career and is set to make his debut at the helm of the team this Sunday in a match against "Freiburg". He will replace sports director Frank Arnesen, who temporarily filled in for the dismissed Michael Oenning.

In 8 matches, the Hamburg club has only won once in the German league and currently occupies the last 18th place.

Fink, who has also coached Salzburg's "Red Bull" and "Ingolstadt", won the Swiss championship two years in a row with "Basel".
