In the ninth round of the German championship, Borussia Dortmund defeated Werder Bremen 2-0 away and rose to second place in the tournament table.
The country's champions were led to victory by an impressive goal from Ivan Perisic at the end of the first half and a precise strike from Patrick Owomoyela in the 71st minute.
Interestingly, Perisic received a second yellow card immediately after the break for a foul on Sokratis Papastapholous and was forced to leave the field, but Werder Bremen did not take advantage of the numerical superiority.
