On Sunday, three matches of the VIII round are played in the English Premier League.

Two excellent goals by Robin van Persie led London's Arsenal team to a 2-1 victory against Sunderland.

The first goal was scored by the Dutch national team member in just 29 seconds - the fastest accurate strike so far in this season of the English championship.

However, Sunderland did not give up and equalized the score in the 30th minute when Sebastian Larsson accurately converted a penalty kick.

Nevertheless, Arsenal pressed the visitors in the second half and finally got what they wanted: in the 82nd minute, van Persie also snatched three points with a fantastic penalty kick.

Also unbeaten this season is the Newcastle team, this time saving a draw against London's Tottenham - the final result was 2-2.

The visitors took the lead after Rafael van der Vaart converted a penalty kick, but in the second half Demba Ba equalized. Although Jermain Defoe once again gave the advantage to the capital's team, just before the end of the match Shola Ameobi scored the equalizer from a sharp angle.

The "West Bromwich" club won their first victory in front of their own fans, beating "Wolverhampton" 2-0 in the derby and moving out of the relegation zone.

The goals that resulted in the fifth consecutive defeat for "Wolverhampton" were scored by Chris Brunt and Kevin Doyle.
