Barcelona defender Gerard Pique will miss approximately two weeks, officially announced the Catalan club.
During the match with Racing Santander, Catalonian asked for a substitution and in the 9th minute, Frenchman Eric Abidal appeared on the field instead of G. Pique.
The injured footballer underwent initial tests during the match, which revealed that he strained the muscle of his right thigh.
The verdict of Barcelona's medical staff is not very pleasant: at least 15 days without football.
This means that G. Pique will miss the Champions League third round match against Plzeno Viktoria and the Spanish championship match against Sevilla. Both of these matches will take place at the Camp Nou stadium. If the footballer's rehabilitation goes smoothly, the defender will be able to return to the field in the Primera matches against Granada.
