Eleven Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) delegated specialists are participating in the "UEFA Study Group Scheme" program courses in Prague, Czech Republic this week, aimed at training and improving coaches, as well as exchanging experience in coaching.
The Lithuanian delegation consists of two groups. One group is composed of specialists from the LFF Technical Centre who organize coach courses and training: Raimondas Statkevičius, Rimas Kazakevičius, Gracijus Girdauskas, Rolandas Čepkauskas, Romualdas Lavrinavičius, and Viačislavas Novikovas.
Another part of the delegation is made up of specialists from various regions of Lithuania: Romualdas Norkus (Klaipėda), Saulius Lesnickas (Šiauliai), Juoza Aleksa (Panevėžys), Juozas Bagdanavičius (Simnas, Alytus region), and Juozas Šiaučiulis (Anykščiai, Utena region).
“Our goal is not only for the Lithuanian Football Federation to organize coach training and qualification improvement, but also to involve regions in this process. That's why we invited specialists from various regions and fields. We hope that they will gain knowledge and experience - from grassroots football to academy activities - and will use it and pass it on to others”, said the director of the National Football Academy Raimondas Statkevičius, who leads the delegation.
The Lithuanian representatives are participating in the courses alongside delegations from Italy and Iceland. Specialists from the three countries share experiences and analyze the experience of the host country, Czech Republic, during the courses.
“During the theoretical part, each delegation presented its coach training system and peculiarities. Specific issues were discussed, from organizing UEFA C to UEFA A and PRO license courses, discussions were held, and experiences were exchanged. During the practical part, we observed training sessions for children aged six to fourteen at the local amateur club "Tempo”,” recounted R. Statkevičius.
The participants of the courses are looking forward to visiting the academy of the professional club “Sparta” and other practical seminars in the near future. Football specialists will be in Prague for four days - from Monday to Thursday.
