Wayne Rooney wants to participate in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The football player would consider it an honor to represent the British team, led by coach Stuart Pearce.
However, this decision is likely to not please coach Sir Alex Ferguson, who has said, "Footballers need rest, preparation for the season, training, time to recover from injuries." Furthermore, that same summer will see the European Football Championship, where Rooney will miss the first three games due to disqualification, but will still be included in the national team.
In the Olympic Games, the team composition must include players up to 23 years old, but three older players can also be chosen.
