Strategist Kenny Dalglish is convinced that forward Luis Suarez is not sufficiently protected by the referees.
The technical Uruguayan has repeatedly complained about the defenders' actions in the 1-1 draw against Norwich last Saturday.
"Luis needs to be protected, but it is not happening," Dalglish said. "Recently, there have been public doubts about his honesty, so maybe this problem arises from that."
And he continued: "However, the focus should not be on Suarez, but on the defenders stopping him. On the field, he is exemplary, a great footballer who gives his all."
Dalglish was also not pleased with the result: "Suarez created many opportunities, tore apart the defense, but failed to capitalize on the chances."
