The bizarre mistake by Lithuanian goalkeeper Vytautas Černiauskas led to the defeat of the "Vaslui" team in the Romanian championship match against "Astra."
In the 87th minute of the match, former Panevėžys screen footballer failed to catch a weakly rolling ball in a simple situation, and it ended up in the net. This was the only goal of the match, giving the victory to the "Astra" team.
However, the teammates of the Lithuanian, who had saved the goal several times before, did not blame him and urged not to be too harsh on himself.
22-year-old Černiauskas, representing "Vaslui," fell to 7th place in the national championship. The Lithuanian started all 11 matches in the starting lineup this season.
