Club security guard Jermaine Pennant has been detained for three months for drunk driving. The incident occurred back in January in Aislbury, when the footballer was detained by police officers. The car he was driving that night crashed into a street light pole. In addition, suspicions were raised by J. Pennant's incoherent speech and the smell of alcohol. Tests confirmed this as well.
22-year-old J. Pennant was not only drunk, but also had not insured his car with compulsory insurance. Furthermore, the footballer from the England youth team did not even have the right to sit behind the wheel, as back in 2004 his driver's license was revoked for 16 months for drunk driving. Due to this offense, the footballer may face imprisonment.
Due to the seriousness of the charges, the court decided to detain the footballer for three months. J. Pennant's lawyer appealed this decision hoping that his client could be released on bail. The appeal will be considered next week. In addition to these sanctions, he has also lost the right to drive a car for three years.
