Messi: records are not my goal © EuroFootball.com

Scoring three goals against Pilsen's "Viktoria" and surpassing the 200-goal mark at the club, Lionel Messi insists that improving records is not his main career goal.

The 24-year-old Argentine has already scored a total of 202 times for the Catalan team and is approaching all-time record holder Cesaro Rodriguez, who scored 235 goals.

"I am satisfied with my game, as well as the statistics, but most importantly - with the winning result," Messi told TVE. "The match was not easy due to the condition of the pitch. In addition, the opponents pressed strongly and disrupted the game with fouls, but we managed to succeed."

Regarding the record, the forward said: "Overtaking Rodriguez is not my goal. I will just try to help the team by scoring goals."

Messi scored his debut goal in May 2005 against "Albacete" when he was just 17 years, 10 months, and 7 days old.
