Strategist Sir Alex Ferguson hopes that Michael Owen's injury is not serious.
The rare appearance in the main lineup, the Englishman started the Champions League match against Galati's "Otelul" on Wednesday, but after a few minutes he pulled his thigh and was replaced.
"Michael was very unlucky," said Ferguson. "By attracting defenders to himself, he greatly contributed to our first goal. Unfortunately, he suffered a thigh injury.
This injury is different from Owen's past injuries. We hope that the treatment will not take long, as he is a very good footballer."
This season, in all tournaments, Owen has played 7 matches, started in the main lineup in three of them, and scored five goals.
