Belgian fifth league player Bobsam Elejiko from Nigeria died on Sunday at a match.
According to reports, the 30-year-old defender representing the "Merksem" club lost consciousness during the game against "Kaart". The efforts of medics to revive him were in vain, however, the cause of death has not been announced yet.
"He fell and suddenly died. Our thoughts are with Elejiko's family and friends, we express our deepest condolences to them," the statement from "Merksem" said.
During his career, Elejiko played for teams such as "Beira Mar", "Westerlo", "Royal Antwerp" and others.
