President Sandro Rosell suggested that the most powerful national championships - England, Italy, Spain - cut the number of teams from 20 to 16. In this case, more free days would be available, which could be used for European cup matches.
However, Scudamore reassured: "It's nice that he expressed his opinion, but it very much represents the interests of Barcelona. Our clubs do not intend to host European cup matches on weekends, as the middle of the week is designated for that."
