Michael Ballack has admitted that he will most likely leave the Leverkusen club next summer.

The 35-year-old veteran's contract will expire in June, so he will become a free agent.

"At the moment I don't think I will stay in Leverkusen and extend the contract," Ballack told Sky Deutschland. "I believe this season will be the last one wearing the team's jersey. But I don't plan on ending my career."

This information was confirmed by Bayer's managing director Rudi Voller: "We plan for Michael to leave in the summer."

In the German league, Ballack played 9 matches, starting in all of them, and scored two goals.
