On Friday, the 2011 football season finale will take place near Druskininkai - the traditional closing ceremony of the Lithuanian football season.
During the closing night of the season, the Lithuanian Football Federation's A League champions Panevėžio "Ekranas", the winners Vilnius "Žalgiris" and Marijampolės "Sūduva", as well as the strongest teams of this year's LFF I League, A League reserves, and women's football A League will be awarded.
One of the biggest intrigues of the closing night of the season is the announcement of the results of the best season players and coach selections. In these longstanding tradition elections, experts and enthusiasts have been voting for two weeks in four categories.
For the first time, a top ten of the most beautiful goals of the season has been compiled, selected by football fans who voted online.
The most votes were received for the penalty kick of Alytus "Dainavos" player Tomas Jeruševičius, closely followed by the goals of Gargždai "Bangos" forward Gytis Gailius and Marijampolės "Sūduva" defender Vaidas Slavickas, as well as "Šiauliai" striker Gocha Tvildiani.
During the festive evening, the best referees of the year, the best female footballer, the most effective players, and the fairest teams will be announced.
The closing ceremony will take place on Friday at the "Snoras Snow Arena" near Druskininkai starting at 16:00.
