Villas Boas responds to critics: we will not change the philosophy of the game © EuroFootball.com

The strategist of London, Andre Villas Boas, denies that the club owner Roman Abramovich has set a deadline to achieve good results, otherwise he faces dismissal.

The London team lost four of the last seven matches and dropped to seventh position in the English Premier League.

"I have a three-year contract," said the 34-year-old Portuguese. "Results in football are the most important for a coach, I understand that perfectly and have no problems.

"I didn't come here to become a failure. I came to win. There are huge expectations placed on this project, which we have not lived up to so far. There's no point in running away from it. But that doesn't mean that work cannot continue or that we won't find our way to success."

And he continued: "It's normal that people are dissatisfied - both fans and the media. But no one wants to change it more than we do ourselves."

There has been a lot of criticism that a strategist with just a couple of years of coaching experience should change tactics and abandon attacking football, as it affects defense. However, Villas Boas bluntly stated: "We will definitely not change the game philosophy and style."
