At least six people died in a bus carrying some of the best Togo footballers, crashed and caught fire.
The incident happened 160 km north of the capital Lomé as the "Etoile Filante" club was traveling to a match. Many players are among the seriously injured.
It is reported that the incident occurred when the bus tire exploded. The vehicle caught fire - according to witnesses, nothing was left of it.
"I do not know how we managed to survive," says goalkeeper Mama Souleymane. The identities of the deceased are not yet revealed.
