The Spanish Football Federation extended the winter transfer window by one day.
Until now, clubs in this country could buy players in the middle of the season from January 2-30, even though the first month of the year has 31 days.
"Since the transfer window in other European countries closes precisely on January 31, it is unreasonable to limit Spanish teams," the federation said in a statement. "The decision was made because it does not contradict FIFA rules."
The last day of the transfer window in football usually sees a lot of activity. Earlier this year, London's Chelsea purchased Fernando Torres for a record 58 million euros just minutes before the deadline.
