Legendary Brazilian Pele believes that his compatriot Neymar already surpasses the famous Lionel Messi.
The Argentine is publicly recognized as the best player on the planet and has won individual awards, but Pele has a different opinion.
"I think Neymar is better: he strikes well with both feet, can dart in any direction, scores goals," Pele told Globoesporte.
"Messi is very good, but he depends a lot on where he is playing. He does very well at Barcelona, but in the Argentine national team, which is not fully formed, there are big difficulties. Meanwhile, Neymar shines both in the Santos team and in the Brazilian national team."
The 19-year-old Neymar recently rejected offers from the top European clubs and extended his contract with Santos.
"Better than me? There will never be another Pele, but I have said more than once: I will hand over my crown to the best. And he is," added the legend.
