London strategist Andre Villas-Boas is preparing to completely renovate the team this summer. Among the footballers who will be allowed to leave is longtime starting goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The 34-year-old specialist from Portugal is convinced that he will not be dismissed even if this season does not go well, so he will have the opportunity to rejuvenate the squad, as reported by "The Independent."
The coach would like to acquire a new goalkeeper who would be more confident in leaving the goal and distributing the ball more successfully. Additionally, the injury-prone Czech has never reached the level of fitness he previously demonstrated.
In addition to Cech, the club will likely see departures from strikers Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, whose contracts are set to expire in June. The Frenchman could leave as early as January.
Defenders Alex, Paulo Ferreira, goalkeeper Florent Malouda, and striker Salomon Kalou should also feel uneasy due to less playing time. In order to raise enough funds, Branislav Ivanovic and Jose Bosingwa could also be sold.
