Ambassador's Football League - an amateur tournament that has been taking place in London for more than a decade. This year, the tournament is sponsored by the news agency BBC and the English HSBC bank.

The Lithuanian football team, founded in June 2004, is the first team accepted from the Baltic States, therefore, the attention to this team is very high.

"The season is coming to an end. There are only 2 more matches and cup competitions left. We currently hold positions 4-7 out of the 12 teams in the tournament," says Martynas, who plays for the team.

At the end of the summer, Lithuanians are planning charity matches, the funds raised from which will be donated to the Lithuanian church in London.

"With this event, we would like to bring together as many Lithuanians as possible who live and work abroad. The Lithuanian team will compete against a team representing the rest of the world, whose players represent other embassy teams. We will organize the event ourselves," says a representative of the Lithuanian team.

In the last match, which took place last Saturday, the Lithuanian ambassadors defeated the Brazilian team 3-1 and secured second place in the group, only behind the French team.

The Lithuanian team will continue to compete in the small cup competition, after securing second place in the group stages.
