President of Munich Uli Hoeness hopes that the German team will reach the Champions League final.
Although last season the Bavarians barely managed to take third place in the national championship, this season the game has improved significantly.
"In 2011 there were ups and downs," Hoeness said. "The beginning of the year was catastrophic, but we managed to secure a place in the Champions League. Then the new coach Jupp Heynckes arrived and we played amazingly for 10 months. There were a few bumps, but we regained our form. That's life."
Talking about the Champions League, the "Bayern" leader assured: "We are waiting for the draw for the round of 16, which will be before Christmas. It's good that we will play against a team that finished second in their group. But later we will still face Real Madrid or Barcelona. It will be extremely difficult. Our goal is the Champions League final on May 19."
In the German championship after 15 rounds, "Bayern" is in first place with 31 points.
