In the English "Premier League" on Sunday, two matches were played.

The six consecutive wins and 11 unbeaten matches streak was not continued by London's "Tottenham" club, who had to admit defeat to "Stoke" with a score of 2-1.

Both goals for the winners were scored by Matthew Etherington, who previously wore a "Tottenham" jersey, in the 13th and 43rd minutes.

The visitors bounced back when Emmanuel Adebayor scored a penalty kick earned by Luka Modric in the 62nd minute, but in the 82nd minute, Younes Kaboul was sent off the field for two yellow cards, leaving the capital's team with no hope of salvation.

After this setback, Harry Redknapp's team (31 pts) maintained their 3rd place in the standings, but are now seven points behind the leader "Man City." Meanwhile, "Stoke" (21 pts) climbed to 8th place.

In another dramatic victory in the next match, the "Sunderland" team, led for the first time by new manager Martin O'Neill, won 2-1 against "Blackburn".

The visitors took the lead after Simon Vukcevic's accurate shot, but David Vaughan equalized with a great shot in the 84th minute, and Sebastian Larsson secured the victory with a penalty kick in added time.
