Today (Tuesday), the draws for the 2005 Lithuanian Football Federation Cup quarterfinals were held, pairing eight teams from the "A League" and eight teams from last season's "B League", two of which are preparing to participate in the top league next year.
One of the most interesting matchups should be between last season's "A League" outsider "Vilnius" and the winners of "B League" "Šiauliai", while Vilnius' "Vėtra" and Klaipėda's "Atlantas" are also not expecting an easy stroll - they will face respectively "Kaunas Jėgeriai" and Kėdainiai "Nevėžis".
The cup holder and national champion "Kaunas" will face the second team of "Vėtra", Panevėžys' "Ekranas" will play against Jonava's "Lietava", Marijampolė's "Sūduva" against Klaipėda's "Rodovitas", and "Šilutė" against their neighbor from the coast, Plungė's "Babrungas". An interesting draw went to "Žalgiris", who will have to compete against their reserve team "Polonija".
