"Chelsea" looks to sign "Real" striker Higuain? © EuroFootball.com

London is preparing to offer almost 36 million euros for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

As Frenchman Nicolas Anelka is leaving the English team, and Fernando Torres is not currently in good form, coach Andre Villas Boas is looking for reinforcements.

Also, due to the African Cup of Nations tournament taking place at the beginning of next year, the team will have to do without Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for a while, so Higuain would help solve many problems.

Chelsea hopes that the Argentinean will be willing to move to England, as in Madrid he is currently losing the competition to Frenchman Karim Benzema, reports "Daily Star".

A close source to the footballer said: "Higuain is not happy about remaining on the bench. He wants to fight for the title, but last weekend he was not in the starting lineup in the match against Real. The player is interested in offers."

In the Spanish league, the striker played 15 matches, starting in only 7, and scored twelve goals.
