Representatives of London and Arsenal acknowledged that their showdown in the Champions League round of 16 promises great intrigue.
"Perhaps this is the most interesting time," said British club secretary David Miles. "There were teams we wanted to face more, but let's remember that in the 2007-2008 season we overcame opponents in the knockout stages and celebrated a 2-0 victory in Milan.
"Moreover, recently we have defeated Roma and Inter Milan. But it won't be easy, as each club has earned their place in this stage. Two great matches await us and we believe in our strength."
Meanwhile, AC Milan coach Massimo Allegri emphasized that the main motive will not be revenge for 2008.
"We don't intend to seek revenge," he said. "We know Arsenal is a good team. We hope that in February, when the round of 16 matches will be played, we will be in good athletic form and avoid injuries."
