Madrirdo defender Sergio Ramos will not appear on the field this year due to a calf muscle injury.
The Spaniard played the full 90 minutes in Saturday's duel with Sevilla, but began to feel pain at the end of the second half.
After examinations, it became clear that Ramos will not be able to play in the King's Cup match against Ponferradina, and most likely will also miss the national championship game against Granada scheduled for January 7 or 8.
Real is currently leading the Spanish league and is three points ahead of the Barcelona club.
