The Lithuanian national team will finish the year 2011 in a modest 92nd place in the FIFA rankings. Over the past month, our country's footballers, who have not had the opportunity to play official matches, have moved up two positions. There have been no major changes in the overall rankings - the top twenty has remained practically unchanged, except for the Bosnian and Herzegovinian team leaping to 20th place in the upcoming World Cup qualifying cycle.
In the next qualifying stage starting in the fall, Lithuania will also play against Greece in 14th place, Slovakia in 40th place, Latvia in 68th place, and Liechtenstein dropping to 132nd place.
