Arjen Robben publicly apologized for the shameful attempt to simulate a penalty in the penalty area.
The Munich defender in the German cup tournament match against "Bochum" in the first half comically fell and tried to convince the referee to award a penalty kick. Unfortunately, the Dutchman's theatrical skills were lacking - the referee showed him a yellow card instead.
"It was stupid. Perhaps there was a penalty, but in that case I should have fallen much earlier. I saw that I wouldn't reach the ball anymore... I acted foolishly. I apologize, it won't happen again," Robben regretted.
At the end of the match, he scored the winning goal - "Bayern" won 2-1.
