The club continues to be plagued by injuries to key players.
From the lineup, at least two to three weeks were lost by right-back Ashley Young, who injured his knee in Wednesday's English Championship match against London's Fulham. Defender Phil Jones also suffered a jaw injury.
"Jones was hit in the jaw with an elbow, so an X-ray will be needed. It doesn't seem like a minor problem," said coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
Defender Rio Ferdinand will miss the December 26 match against Wigan as he continues to recover from a foot injury. In addition to him, the list of injured players includes Nemanja Vidic, Michael Owen, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Fabio, and the unwell Darren Fletcher.
