Madrid strategist Jose Mourinho was not inclined to emphasize the victory in the Club World Cup tournament.
A few days ago, the champions of Spain crushed Santos 4-0 in the final in Japan and earned the right to be called the strongest team on the planet.
"Barcelona is a great team, it's a privilege for me to compete with them for the first place," said the Portuguese. "If we were to compete in any other championship, we wouldn't face any opposition at all."
Commenting on Barcelona's trophy collection, the coach said: "I am too young to judge what place this team holds in football history. Congratulations on the victory in the Club World Cup, but the triumph in the Champions League is incomparably more important than those two matches."
So far, Mourinho himself has not participated in the Club World Cup.
