Forward Chinedu Obasi from Gelzenkirchen will supplement Hoffenheim. The deal will take effect immediately after the new year.
The 25-year-old football player will be loaned until the end of the season with the option to buy the contract for 5 million euros. In this case, a three-year contract would be concluded.
"I love Hoffenheim because I have improved as a player here. However, I think it's time for changes," said Obasi.
However, for now, the future of two Schalke forwards - Raul and Jefferson Farfan - remains unclear. In June, they will become free agents, and negotiations for contract extensions are not ongoing.
