"The company close to Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev acquired 66.67% of shares of a French club. Over four years, entrepreneurs committed to investing at least 100 million euros.
The remaining shares belong to the Principality of Monaco, whose Prince Albert evaluated the deal optimistically: "This is a new page in the history of this team, which is very dear to the Principality. I wish to regain the position that this club held not so long ago."
Rybolovlev, who is the 93rd richest person on Earth, added: "The team has enormous potential, which we hope to realize at both the national and European levels."
In 2004, "Monaco" played in the Champions League final, but last season they dropped out of the top French league. Additionally, currently in the "Ligue 2" championships, Monaco's eleven occupies the last 20th place."
