Thierry Henry could return to his London club for two months. The 34-year-old veteran currently plays for the New York Red Bulls, but during the offseason in the United States, he is training with an English team.
Since the season in the US will start only in March, coach Arsene Wenger is considering offering a contract to the Frenchman, who would replace Gervinho and Marouane Chamakh, who will be leaving for the African Cup of Nations tournament.
"A short-term contract would be ideal, but so far we haven't discussed it," Wenger said.
Henry wore the Arsenal jersey from 1999 to 2007, scoring 226 goals and becoming one of the most beloved players among fans. A few weeks ago, a monument was unveiled next to the Emirates Stadium in his honor.
