Lionel Messi has no doubt that he will triumph in the World Cup with the Argentine national team during his career.
Considered the best footballer on the planet, the 24-year-old striker often faces criticism for not demonstrating the same level of play in the national team as he does for his club's fans. Even more disappointing is the fact that Argentina last won an official trophy in 1993.
However, having scored nineteen goals for his country in sixty-six matches, Messi is confident that success is just around the corner.
"My dream? To win the World Cup and the Copa America tournament," he said. "I lack that, but I am sure that it will happen."
"I would be incredibly happy to win trophies with the national team. I don't think I have anything to prove, as I have always been dedicated to the team. I don't owe anything to anyone, as I am just one of the players who are trying their best. Step by step, we move forward."
The 2014 World Cup will take place in Brazil.
