On the second day of Christmas in the English Premier League, seven matches were played.

Manchester City lost two points, playing away at West Bromwich with a 0-0 draw. It was the first match this season in which Roberto Mancini's players did not score any goals.

The Manchester team had initiative, but the hosts successfully defended and did not allow any chances to be created. Mario Balotelli was closest to scoring, but his shot from distance hit the crossbar. Sergio Aguero missed a great chance later on, and at the end, West Brom could have snatched a sensational victory through Jerome Thomas, who hit the post.

Manchester United took advantage of this stumble, beating Wigan 5-0.

The 'Red Devils' took the lead in the 8th minute when Ji Sung Park scored a superb goal. The match was decided in the 40th minute when Wigan's forward Conor Sammon received a controversial red card for a foul in the middle of the field, and Dimitar Berbatov doubled the lead before halftime.

The Bulgarian forward scored twice after the break, and Luis Antonio Valencia added another goal.

Chelsea lost two important points in an early match against Fulham, drawing 1-1 at home in a city derby.

Chelsea coach Andre Villas-Boas emphasized the fight for the top spot in the league, but this draw complicated Chelsea's situation in the table.

Chelsea took the lead early in the second half when Juan Mata scored from outside the box in the 47th minute. But soon after, Bryan Ruiz tricked Ashley Cole and set up Clint Dempsey, who equalized the score.

In the end, Chelsea pressed for a win but was unable to break through, with young goalkeeper David Stockdale successfully defending the goal.
