London strategist Andre Villas-Boas admitted that this season there are practically no hopes of winning the English championship.
After Monday's 1-1 draw with London's Fulham, the 'Blues' are in fourth place in the league table, trailing leaders Man City and Man Utd by 11 points.
"If the Manchester teams continue to collect points like this, it will be very difficult for us. Perhaps at the moment we should admit that we are not fighting for the first place," - said the Portuguese.
"We need to assess the perspective of today. The situation is challenging, but so far nothing is impossible. However, we need to be realistic. We planned to evaluate the results in December as indicators of the league, so that's what we'll do."
Villas-Boas also denied that he could spend over 150 million euros on new footballers in the winter.
"That's not true. Whatever we plan, we will do quietly, as it should be. We don't have many goals, so we wouldn't even need such amounts," - the specialist insisted.
