In the German championship, the leaders of the unsuccessful "Freiburg" club dismissed coach Marcus Sorg and appointed Christian Streich instead.
The specialist worked since July, when he replaced Robin Dutt, but managed to earn only 13 points in 17 matches.
"We are not a club that easily makes decisions regarding the coach, but we wanted to give a boost to the coaching staff," said sports director Dirk Dufner.
This season, a total of five coaches lost their jobs in Germany: besides Sorg, two of them worked for "Hamburg" team, Ralf Rangnick left Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke", and Markus Babbel was let go by Berlin's "Hertha".
After the winter break, the season will continue from January 20th.
