On Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League, the second day of the round of 16 matches took place, which unfolded differently than the matches on Tuesday, as three teams advanced to the next stage, the teams that played their first matches at home were Bayern, Liverpool, and PSV, while the only Juventus snatched victory after extra time.

In a showdown of giants, Real had a one-goal advantage after the first match, but Juve did not plan to give up and thanks to D. Trezeguet's goal earned the right to play extra time, and with just four minutes left until the end of the second half, Turin club snatched victory with M. Zalayeta's precise strike.

Deficit could not be eliminated by London's Arsenal - England's champions club defeated Bayern Munich in nerve-wracking match, but exited the tournament due to a loss in Germany with a score of 3-1. The only goal for the "Gunners" was scored by their attacking leader T. Henry.

Liverpool and PSV achieved convincing victories on the road: the English Leverkusen with the same result as at their home, 3-1 defeated Bayer, while PSV won in France against last season's finalists Monaco 2-0 and eliminated the latter from the tournament.

So surprisingly, Spanish teams did not last long in the Champions League tournament. The owner of the only remaining ticket to the next stage will be determined next Tuesday in the meeting between Inter and Porto. The draw for the quarterfinals and semifinals will take place on March 18.
