At the last moment, Chelsea entered the battle for defender Gary Cahill and hopes to snatch him from the clutches of London rivals.
The capital club reached an agreement on Friday for an €8 million compensation fee, but negotiations are currently stalling due to personal contract conditions. Liverpool's team strategist Kenny Dalglish, who admires the football player, is looking to take advantage of this situation, as reported by "Daily Mail".
"We still lack agreement with the player. We will continue to monitor the situation," said Chelsea strategist Andre Villas-Boas.
In the summer, Cahill will become a free agent, so Bolton's team is inclined to sell him during the winter transfer window.
