The star Mario Balotelli still intends to consume two packs a week. The footballer has been caught with a cigarette in hand several times, but he does not intend to change his habits.
"Yes, I know he smokes. I view it negatively, but I am not his father or mother," said Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini. "If Mario were my son, I would spank him."
"I advise not to smoke, as I am against cigarettes. In Italy, there are footballers who smoke, I think the same in England. Balotelli does not smoke much - five or six cigarettes a day."
The Daily Mail notes that successful footballers such as Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, Nottingham Forest defender John Robertson, and London Chelsea forward Gianluca Vialli regularly smoked during their careers. Wayne Rooney and Ashley Cole have also been spotted with cigarettes."
