Germany's national team coach Joachim Low is ready to prove that the country is already mature for big victories on the international stage.
Although the Germans have demonstrated excellent results in recent years - finishing in third place at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, and stumbling only in the final at the 2008 European Championships, the last time the prestigious trophy was won was back in the 1996 European Championship.
Fans of the national team, who have won all ten matches in the qualifying tournament, hope that the 2012 European Championship will be a moment of triumph.
"All coaches have the same problem," said the 51-year-old Low. "We have won many matches, the team played well, but you can only enjoy it for a moment, because right away - a new challenge. There's no time to enjoy."
The specialist did not overly celebrate the "2011 Man of the Year" award given to him by "Kicker": "We are still missing one small step to win the title. Small details and mistakes prevented us from doing that so far. I am looking forward to the European Championship, which takes a lot of energy, but it is a wonderful challenge."
And he added: "But not only this tournament is significant. Winning is very important, but we would make a mistake if we only focused on Euro 2012. We must also look to the future.
"At the moment, we are playing at a level where we can beat anyone. Not only because of dedication, but also because of the level of our footballers. Our style of play has improved significantly, but the automatism is not as good as other national teams."
