After this season, Dortmund right winger Marco Reus will be paid 17.5 million euros by Monchengladbach.
The 22-year-old footballer was also of interest to Bayern Munich, but decided to sign a five-year contract with the German champions.
"I am glad that I had the opportunity to excel in the highest league and improve as a player," said Reus. "However, next season I decided to represent a team that fights for the top positions and represents the country in the Champions League."
Last October, Reus made his debut for the German national team and this season scored ten goals in 15 matches.
