The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) recognized Iker Casillas from Madrid as the best goalkeeper of the year.
In a survey conducted by football experts and analysts, the 30-year-old player, who won the award for the fourth time, collected 248 points, surpassing Manuel Neuer representing Bayern Munich (130).
In third place was Barcelona's goalkeeper Victor Valdes (114), followed by Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus) with 63 points and Petr Cech (Chelsea) with 41.
