The Best Coach of 2011 - Guardiola Surpassing Mourinho and Ferguson © EuroFootball.com

Josep Guardiola triumphed in the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) vote for the best coach of 2011.

The chief strategist of Barcelona collected a total of 201 points, surpassing second-placed Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho by a significant margin, who had 112 points, according to fcbarcelona.lt.

In his fourth season coaching the Catalan club, J. Guardiola achieved success in 2011 once again with his players. Last year, Barcelona won the Spanish national championship, triumphed in the UEFA Champions League, celebrated victories in the Spanish and European Super Cup competitions, and in December became the Club World Cup champions for the second time in their history.

The third place went to long-time Manchester United coach Alex Ferguson, who recently celebrated two anniversaries - 25 years of working with the English club and his 70th birthday.

Interestingly, among the best coaches were also the managers of both clubs that Barcelona played against in the Club World Cup. Santos coach Muricy Ramalho took 6th place, while Uruguayan Jorge Daniel Fossati, who coaches Al-Sadd in Doha, shared the 9-11th place with two other strategists.
